If so, then you might just be the perfect candidate to pick up the latest Dining for Schools cards. At only $45/card you can have 1/2 price entrees at 43 local restaurants. You can use the card more than once (unlimited actually!) at any of the restaurants but they are not transferable. Cards can be used Sept. 11-Dec. 15, 2011 and April 15-June 15, 2012 (excluding holidays) from Sunday to Thursday.
Where does the money go?
All the proceeds from Dining for Schools (generally around $40,000/year) go back into the local school system. The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that supports quality public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. Each year the Foundation raises money and provides grants, resources and partnerships to benefit students, teachers and the educational community as a whole.
The cards are available at Porters Sport locations (Tahoe City and Truckee), Save Mart (Tahoe City and Truckee) and Safeway (Truckee and Kings Beach), Mountain Hardware and online at www.ExinEd.org. Please call 530-550-7984 or visit www.ExinEd.org for inquiries.
