Are you a friend of the Truckee Library? A book lover? Maybe you just can’t resist a good deal? If you fit into any of these categories – kind of like books do – then you’ll want to head to Levon Avenue, to the parking lot of the Truckee Library, on Saturday, August 8. Their annual Friends of the Truckee Library book sale begins at 9:30 a.m. It’s going to make for good reading! Here are a few more details…
While any day is a good time to visit the Truckee Library – they are open Monday through Saturday – this day each year is reserved for browsing and buying used books of all genres. The sale lasts right up until 4 p.m.
Besides helping snap up the great deals, Friends are asking for your help. Any major annual fundraiser like this one takes people power. For example, they need volunteers to help move the books from storage on Friday and Saturday. Remember, our Friends support all sorts of Library programs for our community. People like Board Member Pam McAdoo, who has been donating her time and efforts in serving our community for decades, is just one great reason to think about getting involved. In fact, you can read a little bit more about Pam, or about the other great work done by the Friends, by visiting their website at http://www.truckeefol.org/. If you have time to volunteer, all the better! Send your e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Or give Louise a call at (530) 582-7026!
If you can’t make the annual book sale, consider dropping by the Library for their final Truckee Thursday event, on August 6. Good reads for all!
