Living where we do provides for many outstanding adventures in our beautiful outdoors. No matter what season, there are ways for everyone, from athlete to appreciative amateur, to enjoy nature in safety. Tahoe Adventure Company thinks so, and once a month over the summer, right through October, they offer Full Moon kayak tours.
Picture this: it’s late in the day. The sun is setting and the full moon begins to dominate the sky. The water is calm, but Lake Tahoe is fully bathed in moonlight. You’re quietly paddling along, looking up at the moon and stars, and the trip seems as if it could last forever. You hit the beach at the end of the paddling voyage, but you know it’s not over. Hot drinks and snacks await, as you stretch out your muscles, and fit in all the stargazing you can handle.
You and three friends or family members (there is a four-person minimum, though single travelers can often find an existing group to join) can still take in this amazing Harvest Moon journey this season: the two remaining dates are September 27 and October 27. You’ll gather at Tahoe Vista Recreation Area before 5:30 or 5:00, for the September or October trips, respectively. You’ll be paddling on the lake covering up to three breathtaking miles, spending over two hours taking in quiet, nature, and the sky. You’ll pay $65 per person, which includes:
- The kayak (of course)
- A paddle
- Professional guide
- Full instructions
- Goodies at the end, and more!
