Last night my mom and I went out on the town…we had our husbands Erik and Steve in tow with my oldest son Colby who earned a special treat of “big person” night out to celebrate mom’s upcoming birthday. We hadn’t planned or even heard about the 2nd (or 1st for that matter) Lake Tahoe Restaurant Week, but once we got there and saw that we could get a 4 course meal for $40, it didn’t take long to sign right up! We had a variety of foods ranging from crab cakes, carmelized brussel sprouts, butternut squash enchiladas, chicken chipotle pasta, walnut and pear salad, cauliflower soup and of course desert…berry crisps, creme brulee and brownie with ice cream with fudge sauce. I know, YUM!
The ambiance at Cottonwood Restaurant on Hilltop can’t be beat with the over-sized candle chandelier, sparkling lights looking over downtown Truckee and live band in the main dining room. It is a place I grew up going to with my parents and it’s a special treat to bring my son there.
